Agave plants have become one of my favorite things to photograph in Texas. They're sculptural, resilient, and at home in some of the harshest landscapes in the state. Captured on film, this black-and-white image strips away the color and lets the shape and texture speak for themselves. Whether displayed on its own or as part of a gallery wall, it's a simple piece that brings a little bit of Texas grit into your home.

I captured this moment during the Terlingua Chili Cookoff weekend,
just before a night of music, dancing, and passing a whiskey bottle around the campfire.
The Chisos have long stood as a backdrop to the stories and traditions of Far West Texas. This print is a small preservation of that feeling. What I remember most, though, is the quiet. The kind of quiet that almost leaves a ringing in your ears. As the harsh desert sun gave way to evening, the landscape shifted into softer shades of pinks and browns and blues.
Printed on archival fine art paper and made to live on for generations.
